What Do I Wear For My Senior Portraits?

Senior year is here!  It’s finally arrived and that means it’s time for senior portraits!  You’ve seen the upperclassmen’s portraits, have been waiting patiently for your turn, and now you finally get to participate in this fun, exciting experience!  Did you know that for most people the next time you get professional portraits is on your wedding day?  Let’s make your Senior session really amazing!

There are lots of things to know in order to have a successful senior portrait session, but today we’re just focusing on what to wear.  You’ll want to bring a variety of outfits so you get tons of different portraits to choose from.  If you bring outfits that are too similar in style or color, your session will end up being limited on poses, locations, etc.  Example:  Don’t bring all dresses.  Don’t bring all blue clothing.

Here is a page from our Senior Magazine that shows 5 different outfits that are great examples of variety.

Chloe brought a fantastic combination of outfits to her session.  Notice that her outfits were not distracting from her face.  You want the main focus in your portraits to be your face and not a super crazy pattern on your clothing.

In addition to outfits, you should also bring shoes, jewelry, and accessories to compliment your look.  Scarves, a hat, or sunglasses can all be added to give you even more of a variety in your senior portraits.
